Silver Linings bio picture
  • Welcome to Silver Linings, The Blog of Carrie Hill Photography

"Why Silver Linings?" you ask. Well, for starters, there's that cloud...

And, there's the optimism of childhood that I aim to capture in all of my work. There is nothing more beautiful than looking at the world through the eyes of a child. They always find the silver lining.

And yet, that joyful, exuberant innocence is so fleeting. Our children grow, all too quickly, into strong and capable grown-ups...

The beauty in all of this is the legacy of memories we can capture and share with our children, and with their children, and maybe theirs as well.

And that is the silver lining.

Adorable! M Family Peek…

I just loved photographing this family a few weeks ago during the Fall Mini Sessions. Such fun. And, I forecast sweet big brother becoming quite protective of his beautiful little sisters in the years to come.

Thank you, M Family! Enjoy your peek!

B Family Peek

How seriously cute is this family? You may remember them from their session peek from the Baltimore Minis last year…for this shoot, they traveled all the way from their home in Virginia to Philly. I made them promise me that next year, I’ll be the one who travels.

Thank you, B family! It’s always such a pleasure capturing your sweet smiles and catching up with you.

Brrr…The Fall Mini Sessions Continue…H Family Peek

While we’ve battled some intense weather of late on the East Coast, I’ve been terribly fortunate in the scheduling of the Fall Mini sessions…all proceeded without a hitch on their assigned days (which is more than I can say for last Fall, when a surprise October snowstorm had many of us scrambling).

What this day lacked in rain though, it made up for in cold! Temperatures were barely in the 40s for this early morning session, and I wanted to just hug this sweet family for smiling through it. They look warm, don’t they?

Thank you, H family for a fun morning!

xo,

Carrie
