"Why Silver Linings?" you ask. Well, for starters, there's that cloud...

And, there's the optimism of childhood that I aim to capture in all of my work. There is nothing more beautiful than looking at the world through the eyes of a child. They always find the silver lining.

And yet, that joyful, exuberant innocence is so fleeting. Our children grow, all too quickly, into strong and capable grown-ups...

The beauty in all of this is the legacy of memories we can capture and share with our children, and with their children, and maybe theirs as well.

And that is the silver lining.

Sweet Baby R…MODG Peek!

MODG? Don’t worry. I’ve not lost my mind. And, no, the lack of sleep hasn’t caused me to forget how to spell. MODG is a blog. Its writer, who I now know to be amazingly funny, smart, and completely charming, contacted me a few months ago to book newborn photos of her second baby. In those conversations, I learned about her blog, and I am not ashamed to admit that I became obsessed. I’m officially a MODG stalker here. I’m starting her first fan club.

Creepy.

Anyhoo, I wanted to share some peeks of her beautiful new daughter, her son and her lovely family. Check her out when you have a chance, and get ready for fits of giggles.

Chilly Weather…Beautiful Light…P Family Sneak Peek

I photographed this sweet family of three on a really chilly late November afternoon, and we managed to capture some beautiful light. My favorites are the ones where the sun is setting through the trees.

This family was such fun. They brought along their two dogs to our shoot, both they have rescued from local shelters. Sweeter little pups I’ve not met in a long time. They were fun to feature in some of the images, but the focus definitely was on capturing the love these three have for each other and how much fun they have together.

More Mini Peeks…M Family

You may remember this family from earlier in the year, when I photographed them in and around their home to celebrate their younger son’s six month. I was thrilled to hear from them again this Fall when they booked their mini session. The boys have really grown and changed so much in such a short time.

Some Sweetness for your Wednesday

Do you need a little energy today? Something to uplift you and keep you going until Friday? I do. So it was a joy to finish editing this gallery and get to enjoy this little one’s smiling face. Just what I needed to get through the rest of today.
