Silver Linings bio picture
  • Welcome to Silver Linings, The Blog of Carrie Hill Photography

"Why Silver Linings?" you ask. Well, for starters, there's that cloud...

And, there's the optimism of childhood that I aim to capture in all of my work. There is nothing more beautiful than looking at the world through the eyes of a child. They always find the silver lining.

And yet, that joyful, exuberant innocence is so fleeting. Our children grow, all too quickly, into strong and capable grown-ups...

The beauty in all of this is the legacy of memories we can capture and share with our children, and with their children, and maybe theirs as well.

And that is the silver lining.

Brothers Braving the Chill…S Family Sneak Peek…Baltimore Child Photographer

More from the Baltimore Holiday Mini Session weekend…next up, these two adorable brothers, who also braved the chilly winds and low temperatures on Saturday morning. I believe there may have been real shivers when we were finishing up. Luckily they had some yummy treats to look forward to after the session (one of which, I’m hoping, was hot chocolate).

What sweethearts these two boys were. They kept my heart warm.

Baltimore Mini Session Peeks…F Family…Baltimore Child Photographer

I was so excited to spend last weekend in my hometown, Baltimore, MD, and fortunate to book several Holiday Mini Sessions on Saturday. The morning broke with absolutely brilliant sun, and quite chilly temperatures. You’d never know how cold it was by looking at these two girls though. They were such a joy to photograph…giggly, playful, sweet…what lucky sisters they are to have one another (as well as their lovely parents). It was all smiles and no frowns when I asked them to take their winter coats off, but we had them back on pretty quickly.

Thanks for coming out, F Family! I hope you enjoy your peek!

19 Weeks…Sarah’s Maternity Series…Main Line Maternity Photographer

Don’t let the beautiful light in these photos fool you…during our walk for Sarah’s 19 Week shoot, the weather was chilly, grey, damp and not at all conducive to being outside for any longer than absolutely necessary. After a relatively warm early Fall, the crispness in the air is here to stay for at least a while.

So, here we are at 19 Weeks, nearly half of the way through Sarah’s weekly series…time is flying (for me, at least).

If you’re interested in looking at the earlier weeks in this series, you can find them by clicking on the following links: 13 Weeks; 14 Weeks; 15 Weeks; 16 Weeks; 17 Weeks; 18 Weeks.

Twice the Love…Twice the Diapers…N Family Peek…Main Line Newborn Photographer

I was thrilled when the N family booked me to capture newborn images of their beautiful twins, Mr. G and Miss K. It was months ago when Mrs. N called me, and I happily penciled her due date into my calendar and waited…and waited…and waited…I wish I was a more patient person, but I just couldn’t wait to meet these two new babies, and they were as lovely and new as I could have imagined. Better, even.

Thank you, N Family for inviting me to share in this amazing and special time in your lives. It was truly my honor and pleasure to create these for you.

xo,

Carrie
