I was so excited to hear from Paige Sullivan, the creator of Christine Shirley, a few weeks ago as she was prepping for her very first trunk show. Paige wanted me to come and capture the details of the day for her, and I was thrilled to do so. The show was held on the outdoor patio of the White Dog Cafe in Wayne, which is fast becoming one of my favorite local restaurants.
Paige creates beautiful accessories and apparel from vintage materials…scarves, buttons, tablecloths. Think chic clutches made from gorgeous vintage Indian fabrics, handmade aprons sewn from colorful floral tablecloths, hair pins made out of buttons. She manages to put a fresh spin on her work, and everything is displayed in a whimsical, eye-catching manner that makes the detail lover in me swoon.
The event couldn’t have been more lovely. Guests enjoyed the delicious offerings from White Dog, adorned with handmade flags (“Sew Pretty” – adorable) that Paige crafted for the occasion, shopped to their hearts content, and each took home a basket of Christine Shirley goodies created by Paige herself. Of all of the details, my favorite had to be found adorning the delicious petit fours served as dessert. Paige worked with the pastry chef at White Dog to create tiny pink buttons molded from white chocolate. So thoughtful. So delicious. So Christine Shirley!
Paige, I’m thrilled that your business is taking off and am honored that you chose me to help you capture images of this special day! Enjoy your peek!
